With its commitment to excellence in biology teaching, research, and community service, BIOTA Philippines, Inc. invites all interested stakeholders to this annual gathering of biology educators, researchers, practitioners, and enthusiasts.

The activities are designed to:

  • Provide a venue for the exchange of ideas and sharing of experiences on challenges and opportunities encountered in the implementation of curriculum reforms.
  • Enable sharing of current researches, projects and best practices on continuing professional development to enhance the capabilities of biology teachers in achieving excellence in Biology education and research in the country.
  • Stress the responsibility of biology teachers and researchers in promoting interest and understanding of Biology and its interrelations to other fields.


There will be simultaneous sessions during the convention. You may choose from the following sub-themes when you submit your abstract:

  • Advanced Biological Technologies
  • Innovative Teaching and Learning
  • Action Research in Biology
  • Health and Wellness
  • Biodiversity Management and Conservation
  • Climate Change
  • Gender Sensitivity
Deadline for abstract submission is March 15, 2019 (Friday)

Important! Please indicate in a footnote in the docx file you will upload if you wish to submit the abstract for inclusion in competing category for the particular track it was submitted to.

Includes membership fee, convention materials, snacks & lunches, and fellowship dinner. Early online registration is encouraged to ensure receipt of complete convention materials.

* Regular members are those who pay an annual membership fee of PHP 300
** Life members are those who have paid a one-time life-membership fee of PHP 3000 sometime in the past and have been issued a "Life Member Certificate"
***A person applying to be a life member must have attended at least one national or regional convention within the past three years prior to becoming a life member 
****Early bird and on-site registration rates are the same. Valid undergraduate student I.D. must be presented on-site or a copy emailed when sending a copy of deposit transaction.

Please note:
  • Only officially registered and paid participants by April 5, 2019, Friday, are allowed to present a seminar/workshop/poster and to have their abstracts included in the souvenir program.
  • Official receipts may be claimed on-site.
  • Please bring the original bank deposit slip during the convention for verification purposes.
  • Please bring also proof of BIOTA Life Membership
